摘要：

Vorhofflimmern fuhrt zu gehauftem Auftreten embolischer Schlaganfalle und besteht bei etwa einem Viertel aller Patienten, die sich einer Herzoperation unterziehen. Durch den Verschluss des linken Vorhofohrs (LAA) kann das Risiko dieser Patienten fur neurologische Ereignisse dauerhaft reduziert werden. Die Arbeitsgemeinschaft Herzrhythmusstorungen der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Thorax-, Herz- und Gefasschirurgie (DGTHG) bewertet den aktuellen Stand der klinischen Forschung und empfiehlt den simultanen LAA-Verschluss bei Patienten mit praoperativem Vorhofflimmern im Rahmen von Herzoperationen.
