Formation of Hydrated Titanium Dioxide on the Surface of Aqueous Solution of Titanium(III, IV) Salt under the Action of Ammonia Gas

摘要
The interaction of a titanium salt aqueous solution with air (NH3) at the interface leads to the formation of TiO2 center dot nH(2)O film consisting of nanoparticles about 20 nm in size. The morphology of products synthesized on the surfaces of TiOSO4, TiCl3, and Ti-2(SO4)(3) solutions was studied by optical and electron microscopy. Using X-ray spectral microanalysis and X-ray phase analysis, the composition and crystal structure of the synthesized compounds were established. The conditions for obtaining tubular TiO2 center dot nH(2)O structures with the morphology of microscrolls about 10 mu m in diameter and 200-600 mu m in length were found. Possible reactions of formation of hydrated titanium dioxide gradient films and a hypothesis explaining the reasons for their rolling-up transformation were proposed.
