Design of Kagome lattice composite sandwich metastructures with high load bearing and low frequency vibration reduction properties

摘要
This paper proposes a new type of composite lattice metastructures with the advantages of low-frequency broadband vibration isolation and high load bearing ability. The proposed metastructure is a sandwich structure with periodic arranged resonating units. In particular, the faceplates of each unit-cell are slotted and the resonator is supported by elastic beams. The vibration attenuation performance and mechanisms of bandgap generation of the new type of metastructures are investigated numerically and experimentally. In addition, parametric studies have been conducted to evaluate the effect of structural parameters on vibration transmission properties, and the composite way of multiple unit-cells is also discussed to obtain a wider bandgap. Furthermore, the vibration isolation performance of the column metastructures under pressure is studied, and the vibration transmission and quasi-static compression tests are carried out. This work offers an innovative method to develop multi-functional sandwich lattice structures with both load-bearing and low-frequency vibration isolation.
