摘要
Proximity-fed compact wideband rectangular and circular microstrip antennas by employing H-shape, C-shape, and W-shape ground plane profiles are proposed. Optimum results are obtained in rectangular microstrip antenna using H-shape ground plane. Against the conventional ground plane, it gives 16% bandwidth improvement, supported by 17.29% and 31% reduction in resonant mode frequency and patch area, respectively. The proposed design exhibits a broadside pattern with a gain of 6.1 dBi and can find applications in GSM 900 band.
