Improving the stability of hydrazinium pentazolate through cocrystallization

摘要
An energetic cocrystal of hydrazinium cyclo-pentazolate and pyrazine-1,4-dioxide (2 : 1), N2H5N5/PDO, was synthesized. The cocrystal, as characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR and Raman spectroscopy, XRD, and elemental analysis, has a higher density, lower sensitivity and lower hygroscopicity than N2H5N5. Moreover, the calculated detonation velocity of N2H5N5/PDO (8.735 km s(-1)) is comparable to that of RDX, and it is an improved high-performance energetic material.
