摘要
We characterise, describe and illustrate a new fossil genus and species, Paralellopsocus elongatus gen. et sp. nov., a small barklouse belonging to the extinct family Empheriidae (Trogiomorpha: Atropetae), based on specimens preserved in Burmese amber. These findings shed more light on Empheriidae and its possible senior synonymy with Archaeatropidae, as we discuss their classification and the value of their diagnostic characters. This new discovery further increases the number of described taxa in Empheriidae as the family was probably diversified and widely distributed during the Cretaceous.(c) 2023 Elsevier Ltd.
