摘要
Introduction: Implant dentistry is a treatment modality used in daily practice for fully or partially edentulous patients. To increase the success of dental implants, there are various surface modifications of dental implants. The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical and radiographic parameters among SLA, SLActive and TiUnite implant surfaces.Materials and methods: Subjects with dental implant in function for minimum of 1 year were categorized based on the surface treatment of the implant into: Group 1: SLA (n=25), Group 2: SLActive (n=25), Group 3: TiUnite (n=25). Clinical parameters including peri-implant probing depth (PPD) and radiographic parameters including crestal bone loss (CBL) were recorded for all participants. One-way ANOVA was used for intergroup comparison, followed by Tukey's HSD post hoc analysis for pairwise comparison. Results and discussion: The mean PPD in group 1, group 2 and group 3 was 3.64 +/- 0.49 mm, 3.16 +/- 0.47 mm, 5.12 +/- 0.60 mm, respectively. The mean CBL in group 1, group 2 and group 3 was 0.98 +/- 0.23 mm, 0.55 +/- 0.07 mm, 2.24 +/- 0.46 mm, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between the three groups in terms of PPD and CBL (p = 0.00).Additionally, a statistically significant difference between the groups was revealed by a pairwise comparison (p = 0.00).Conclusions: Compared to SLA and SLActive implants, peri-implant probing depth and crestal bone loss were higher around TiUnite dental implants.
