摘要
In the current study scintillation properties of a recently developed 6Li2CaSiO4:Eu2+ polycrystalline scintillation material have been evaluated. Samples of thin layers of scintillator with thicknesses of 54, 120, and 180 mu m were prepared and the scintillation light yield of the samples under alpha particle excitation was estimated to be 12000 ph/MeV. The material with a layer thickness of 180 mu m shows similar sensitivity to the commercial ZnS:Ag-6LiF based 470 mu m Scintacor ND screen to moderated neutrons and has less sensitivity to the gamma -quanta. Scintillation kinetics has been estimated to be five times faster than that provided by ZnS:Ag, which makes the reported material prospective for high count rate measurements in pulse mode.
