摘要
Schizophrenia is a disabling neurodevelopmental disorder with a prevalence of 1% in the lifetime. Some studies suggest the relationship between infection diseases with schizophrenia & PRIME;s incidence and clinical course, even the Toxoplasma gondii infection. This report summarizes a narrative review of the literature, about T. gondii and schizophrenia association. We got 621 studies; we used 34 that meet the inclusion criteria. A higher schizophrenia & PRIME;s incidence was found in the offspring of mothers with a history of toxoplasmosis, also, an adults, the infection was associated with worst therapeutic response, changes in hospitalization length of stay and higher prevalence. Furthermore, we found methodologic bias, then, is necessary to carry out more investigations that allows us to determine the association validity.
