摘要
Organizations operate in a digital world that is continually evolving with widespread digital innovation (DI), which is crucial to company competence. To develop a thorough understanding of DI research domain and its themes, establishing a coherent overview of the theoretical intellectual structures in the DI literature is of utmost importance. In academia, DI has garnered considerable attention across a broad spectrum of literatures, creating a fragmented body of relevant literatures that must be consolidated. To achieve our objectives, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of 647 qualified articles published between 2000 and 2020 to identify the most significant building blocks (innovation structure, innovation technology, and innovation strategy) in the DI literature through key co-occurrence and co-citation analyses using the CiteSpace software. This analysis was followed by a systematic literature review of the 123 most influential articles, elaborating on the relationships between the hot topics within each block and elucidating how each block influences the others, to offer a comprehensive understanding of DI research. Through our study, we identified areas for further exploration and demonstrated how bibliometric and systematic literature review can be combined to provide a deeper understanding of complex fields of research.
