摘要
Through reconstruction of energy-and material specific image datasets, dual-energy CT can expand the array of diagnostic tools for the evaluation of gastrointestinal diseases as compared with single-energy CT. The combined use of virtual unenhanced, monochromatic, and iodine overlay/iodine maps allows for improved assessment of a variety of gastrointestinal diseases. Use of virtual unenhanced images can decrease radiation dose in the context of multiphase gastrointestinal CT examinations. Emerging photon-counting CT systems and novel contrast can further expand the role of dual-and multi energy CT techniques in the assessment of gastrointestinal diseases.
