摘要
Corticosteroids are a versatile class of drugs employed a wide range of applications. However, their many adverse reactions may require monitoring in biological samples. In addition, in view of their eco-toxicological potential, monitoring and reducing them in the environment may be a long-term solution to counteract their harmful effects. For these reasons, the development of new, rapid, selective, and inexpensive electrochemical methods for the determination of corticosteroids in biological and environmental samples is important. This mini-review high-lights recent advances and discusses the results in terms of selectivity and sensitivity as well as proposing future prospects in the development of electrochemical sensors for the determination of corticosteroids.
