Rapid Electromagnetic Scaling Methodology for the Electric Propulsion of a Hybrid-Electric Aircraft

摘要
The number of propulsors used by an aircraft can affect the requirements for its internal systems, even if the rest of the aircraft and the chosen flight mission remain unchanged. One consequence is that each propulsor must generate a different thrust. For an electric propulsor, this means different operating points for the electrical machine. Concerning this aspect, this paper describes electromagnetic scaling methods for geometric design changes based on variable operating points for electric propulsion of a hybrid-electric aircraft. This presents the possibility of creating a universal model of the electrical machine for interdisciplinary investigations.
