Effect of Cu2+ and Cr3+ doping on structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of zinc sulfide nanoparticles for optoelectronic applications

摘要
In this paper, Cu2+, Cr3+ dual doped ZnS nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared using co-precipitation method without using any capping agents at room temperature, for the first time. The synthesized materials analyzed by XRD, TEM, SEM, EDX, and UV-Visible. According to XRD analysis, all the samples that were prepared exhibited a cubic phase, with an average crystallite size approximately 2 nm. EDX spectra affirmed the existence of Cu, Zn, Cr, and S ions in the synthesized nanoparticles. UV-Vis affirmed that the optical bandgap has been found to be in range (4.76-5.29 eV). Optical dielectric constants (ODC) of the synthesized nanoparticles decrease as doping ratios increase. SEM revealed that the particles were agglomerated. The values of conductivity molar (sigma(DC)) were measured at 298 K for all fabricated samples. The results showed that the synthesized materials were enhanced by the dual doping process that makes them candidate materials for some applications especially optoelectronics devices.
