Aim is to present a new type of contractive mappings and establish the existence and uniqueness of fixed points for the same by utilizing the concepts of alpha-admissible mapping and JS-contraction. For the validity of main results we present some non-trivial examples vindicating the advantage over several fixed point results of the existing literature. As applications, some new fixed point theorems are presented in the metric spaces equipped with graphical structure and sufficient conditions are discussed to ensure the existence of a solution for a functional equation arising in dynamic programming.
