摘要
Interactional competence is crucial for language acquisition but has been overlooked in policy and language education, leading to a lack of research on longitudinal trajectories in L2 IC development. The Development of L2 Interactional Competence: A Multimodal Study of Complaining in French Interactions by Klara Skogmyr Marian addresses this gap by examining the development of L2 speakers' interactional practices in complaining. This article provides an overview and critique of the book, aiming to contribute insights to the research on the development of L2 interactional competence and multimodal manifestations in social activities, ultimately providing empirically grounded guidance for second language learning and teaching.
