摘要
Considering physiology as the science that studies the functions of organic beings, we understand physiological architecture as the discipline that designs space according to the functional needs of the human body. Speculative in nature, many of these architectures remain confined to artistic circles despite their strong scientific foundation. These are spatial proposals that exploit the hidden dimension, while forcing us, as spectators, to reflect on the conditions of our environment. Teams such as Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Fabric or Philippe Ram offer us an alternative approach to the contemporary habitable model. Rahm is considered not only a pioneer but one of the greatest exponents of this type of architecture. This article analyzes the past and present of this architecture, through the critical analysis of a selection of proposals developed within the last twenty years.
