摘要
Borosilicate glass is a promising material for immobilization of high-level radioactive waste (HLW). The leaching behavior of borosilicate glass is crucial for the safety of HLW deep geological disposal. Borosilicate glasses were irradiated with 5 MeV Xe ions. After irradiation, the leaching behaviors of borosilicate glasses were investigated using the MCC-1 static leaching method at 90 degrees C. The solutions were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. The structure of the glasses was characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and grazing incident X-ray diffraction. With radiation of ions, [BO4] units were transformed into [BO3] units, which decreased the polymerization of glass network. The [BO3] units of glasses with and without irradiation both decreased gradually as the leaching time increased. After irradiation, the leaching rates of glasses increased obviously. The strength of the glass network deteriorated after irradiation and the structure of irradiated glass was more easily altered than pristine glass under leaching condition.
