摘要
The stability of wind farms is a major issue in various fault conditions. Extreme voltage sag and voltage swell may introduce voltage instability in the power network connected to doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind farms. In such instances, FACTS devices, such as the static synchronous compensator (STATCOM), can sustain voltage at the point of common coupling (PCC) by dynamic power injection. In this work, the dynamic performance of DFIG-based wind turbine connected to nine bus system under three different conditions are analysed (a) without STATCOM, (b) withSTATCOM, and (c) with fuzzy-controlled STATCOM. Moreover, to show the efficacy of fuzzy-controlled STATCOM, we have compared the performance of STATCOM and fuzzy-controlled STATCOM under various conditions, such as voltage sag, voltage swell, and three-phase fault condition. This research also shows that without reactive power assistance, stability cannot be maintained by DFIG during transients. However, STATCOM can result in stable operation and FLC STATCOM outperforms STATCOM in handling faults.
