Feminist contributions to the field of security: Critical reflections on their main positions and analytical proposals for their transformation

The article addresses the main epistemological, theoretical, methodological and political ruptures that feminism, through the category of gender, but also through other categories such as intersectionality, has provoked in security studies and practices. To this end, its criti-cal contributions to traditional and alternative security studies are presented, as well as some of its main analytical proposals. Additionally, appealing to the critical stance that character-izes feminism, the article also identifies some of the limitations that after several decades of feminist studies on security, have become visible and that constitute challenges for the strengthening of its analytical capacity and the transformation of security.
