TRANSFORMING THE TEACHING OF BASIC MATHEMATICS: AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH WITH EXCEL

摘要
In the context of virtual education, it has been observed that teaching methods can be complex and confusing, which can lead to gaps in learning, extensive and manual calculations, as well as a lack of accountability on the part of those involved, often leading to unreliable results and delays in problem solving. However, with the advancement of technology, it has been identified that the use of Excel software as an additional tool can facilitate the understanding of mathematics education subject matter and increase interest in learning. To address this issue, a qualitative approach was conducted through a literature review of primary sources of information, and a sample of 21 students was used to conduct a parallel analysis. The results obtained indicate that Excel software is easy to use and meets the needs of basic mathematical content. In addition, it offers a wide range of mathematical functions and applications, such as solving equations, matrices and truth tables of molecular statements, which increases learning opportunities and allows putting the mathematical process into practice.
