摘要
Little research explores the experiences of slut shaming of sexual minorities. This qualitative study explored the phenomenon of slut shaming among men in the LGBTQIA + communities. Semi-structured interviews (n = 9) were used to gain an understanding of each participant's experience. Finding revealed eight themes: (a) intersectional variations, (b) community and context, (c) nuances within LGBTQIA + experience, (d) modality of slut shaming, (e) perceived utility, (f) a tool of conformity, (g) responses, and (h) combatting and coping with slut shaming. Implications for supportive and affirmative mental health practices are included to aid in effectively supporting LGBTQIA + clients and providing affirmative services.
