Child sexual abuse occurs in all countries. In Cuba, although its incidence is below 0.05% of the child and adolescent population, it is important due to the state's attention to the protection of minors. In order to analyze child sexual abuse that occurred intrafamily in the Pinar del Rio municipality during 2020, theoretical and methodological instruments were applied to the universe of victimized minors and their legal representatives to evaluate the phenomenon based on semi-structured interviews and review documentary. This was verified that this phenomenon represents a third of the sexual abuses against infants, and its occurrence coincided with what reflected in the international scientific literature. Female single-parent families predominated, in the typical lascivious abuse by close relatives. In cases of abuse occurring within the home, the mothers prioritized the family security offered by the aggressor over the protection of their children. In addition, risk factors were reflected in families with low or no perception of danger, communication problems, sexual orientation, supervision, as well as physically and emotionally absent parents in the formation of their children, after the marital divorce. Open communication on the basis of trust and prejudice is considered the best way to guide and prevent any form of child sexual abuse.
