[Youth and Labor World: The Case of Railroad Workers in Argentina at the beginning of the 20th Century]

This article aims to explore the social experiences of young workers by taking the case of the railway world in Argentina in the first decades of the twentieth century. It seeks to understand the jobs in which boys and girls were initiated, their working conditions, the links and relationships established with the rest of the workforce, as well as their practices and spaces of sociability. In particular, it understands that the gender dimension constitutes a key perspective to study and comprehend their experiences and that, in a labor world composed mostly by men, the work space was essential in the construction of roles, ideas and prerogatives around masculinity. From this, it hopes to contribute to the knowledge of the experiences of working-class youth, a sector little explored and barely problematized by labor historiography.
