Failure probability and spectrum occupancy rate based routing and spectrum allocation algorithm in elastic optical networks

摘要
In an elastic optical network, it is essential to ensure that the service transmission is stable and smooth. This means that service transmission requires lower blocking probability and lower failure probability. This also depends heavily on the path selection. Therefore, we propose a dynamic routing and spectrum allocation algorithm to select paths that are more in line with the needs of blocking probability or failure probability. The proposed algorithm selects path through calculating and comparing the cost value of alternative paths, hence, achieving the purpose of reducing the network blocking rate and average path failure probability. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm can obtain lower network blocking probability and guaranteed the failure rate of the service compared with the traditional D+FF algorithm.
