Overview of heavy quark results in heavy ion collisions at the LHC

摘要
Heavy flavor quarks such as charm and bottom are excellent probes of the strongly interacting hot-dense medium created in heavy ion collisions to understand quark-gluon plasma state known as the early universe. This paper reviews the brief historical background and study motivation of heavy quark productions in heavy ion collisions, and summarizes the selected experimental achievements at LHC.
