Digital justice and intellectual disability: Taking advantage of the oportunity

Reality is bringing us ever closer to a revolutionary justice scenario due to the implementation of new technologies in the field of the Administration of Justice. The new digital justice must be developed without any reduction in procedural guarantees and, fundamentally, without any setback in the progress towards achieving equal access to justice for all people, with the aim of achieving social cohesion. In this sense, people with disabilities find themselves in a paradoxical position regarding this new scenario; on the one hand, they can take advantage of the benefits that digitalisation offers them; on the other, the multiform digital divide can be widened precisely because of their situation.
