摘要
A method for calculating the linear shrinkage of a slab during its formation on a continuous casting machines (CCM) production line is presented. By using this method, the simulation of the shrinkage of a slab with a thickness of 250 and 315 mm, cast at operating speeds of 1.0 and 0.6 m/min, respectively, is performed. As a result of modeling, the impact of the carbon content in steel on the relative shrinkage of the slab along the entire length of the CCM production line is revealed. The regularities obtained allowed a complex effect of the carbon content on the shrinkage to be established. Thus, the highest shrinkage, as compared to both steels with lower and higher carbon contents, occurs in peritectic steel having a carbon content of 0.16%. By using the obtained dependences, the parameters for setting the CCM roller guide can be estimated and selected.
