摘要
The casting industry is a key base technology for manufacturing. However, it faces many problems such as increasing material costs, environmental regulations, poor working conditions, and manpower problems. Many activities are being conducted to improve productivity and work environment in the casting field. In this study, we propose a volumetric measurement method for a pattern of sand casting to automatically control the discharge amount of sand -casting equipment. Two depth cameras are used to measure an object, and spherical targets are used to perform calibration to match the camera coordinate system. A quadrilateral mesh is generated by constructing a plane for the model, and the distance from each element to points is calculated. The volume is calculated by reconstructing quadrilateral elements using the element offset method. By comparing the accuracy with the precisely measured data, the feasibility was verified.
