The use of the case method for the development of lexical competencies of students of medical specialties in the course "Foreign (French) language in the professional field"

摘要
The possibilities of using the case method in teaching medical students in the course "Foreign (French) language in the professional field" are considered. A theoretical description of the case method (a method for solving situational problems), the possibility of its application in the context of learning technologies in the modern system of higher education is presented. The significance of the method as an effective means for the development of professional and lexical competencies of students in the educational process is substantiated. The spheres of communication of the professional activity of future doctors are determined and the most important topics for studying in a foreign language are highlighted. The advantage of using the method has been proven, since with the help of the analysis of practical situational problems, students are invited to analyze and discuss the problems of professional activity and comprehend possible solutions. A training case was developed on the topic "The role of afferent fibers of the vagus nerve in the regulation of respiration" in the discipline "Normal physiology", section "Physiology of the respiratory system". The educational material was taken from the textbook of Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences K.V. Sudakov, Normal Physiology. Situational tasks and tests, which is used when studying the topic at MSMSU at the Faculty of Medicine, and translated by the authors into French. The algorithm of work with the use of the case method in the classroom in a foreign language (French) is presented, consisting of four stages: the stage of methodological preparation, the stage of immersion in the situation of communication, the stage of analyzing tasks and solution methods, the stage of controlling the formation of lexical competencies. The case method was tested as part of the study of the topic "Physiologie du systeme respiratoire": multiple choice tests and a questionnaire on the quizizz.com platform were developed, showing the ratio of correctly completed tasks and the total number of questions. As a component of working with the case, tasks are offered in the form of a "web-quest": retelling (retelling tasks); riddles (mystery tasks); solving controversial problems (consensus building tasks); evaluation tasks (judgment tasks); scientific tasks (scientific tasks)
