摘要
The digital public sphere is a space for political and social interactions in which citizens exchange information, create social movements, discuss issues of collective interest, among other activities. This apparently democratic space is mostly made possible by social media that belong to technology companies. Recent episodes indicate that these companies are guided by economic interests that are often distanced from democracy. There is a paradox of the digital public sphere in which the free flow of information and ideas becomes harmful to democracy. This research aims to analyze the constitutionalization of the digital public sphere as a path for that sphere to maintain its democratic integrity. As a hypothesis, it is pointed out the need for a broad constitutionalization process of the digital environment that promotes the absorption of constitutional precepts considering the symbiosis between democracy and constitutionalism. Democratic constitutional values must govern both "analog" and digital spaces.
