The second-harmonic generation (SHG) and third-harmonic generation (THG) of a tuned quantum dot (QD) in the presence of an applied magnetic field are theoretically investigated. For this purpose, the Schrodinger equation is analytically solved with and without consideration of the impurity term. The analytical energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are derived with the impurity effect. The SHG and THG of the tuned QD are then studied with and without considering the impurity term. It is found that (i) the SHG and THG increase and shift toward lower energies in the presence of the impurity term, and (ii) the SHG and THG in the presence of the impurity increase and shift to higher energies with an increase in the magnetic fields. We also deduced that the depth and stretching range of the confinement potential have important effects on the SHG and THG of the tuned QD.
