摘要
The response to the COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating socio-economic consequences for millions of people, households and communities worldwide. Towards containing the spread of the pandemic, lockdown measures were imposed by various governments with Palliative Care Deliveries (PCD) offered to their citizenry. Thus, this study examined COVID-19-related socio-economic impacts and PCD during the lockdown in Nigeria. Convenience accidental sampling was used to administer a questionnaire on residents through an online/electronic survey, of which 1232 internet users participated. Data collected were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Our study revealed the most devastating socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, and ranked the most essential needs during the lockdown. We concluded that palliative care relief services could not achieve their intended goals due to the observed logistics challenges; hence, the study recommended among others, the adoption of best logistics principles for PCD during the lockdown.
