摘要
In view of the requirement of biomedical materials for the implantation components due to global rapidly aging population issue, the shape memory alloys are developed using advanced manufacturing techniques. The phase change temperatures play the important role in finalizing the application for SMAs. This study was mainly focused to examine the influence of sintering temperature on phase changes and microstructure of NiTiCu SMA with the influence of precipitate formation. TEM analysis was exhibited the formation of type II twin achieved at the temperature of 900 degrees C which could be supported to attain parent austenite phase shortly. The desirable austenite temperature was achieved with a single stage phase transformation at the temperature of 900 degrees C. The results of this work suggested that NiTiCu SMA can be developed for biomedical application with desirable phases using SPS process.
