摘要
Ferroptosis, known as a type of programmed cell death that is iron dependent, is characterized by intracellular iron accumulation, glutathione depletion, glutathione peroxidase inactivation and lipid peroxidation. More and more research in recent years has demonstrated the tight connection between viral infections and ferroptosis. This article reviews the potential role and mechanism of ferroptosis in viral infection, and these findings will help in the prevention and treatment of the virus. Ferroptosis is a newly discovered type of cell death. More and more studies have shown that ferroptosis is closely related to infection by a variety of viruses. This article reviews the potential role and mechanism of ferroptosis in viral infection.
