摘要
Significant advancements in dedicated brain PET instrumentation have been made over the past few years, surpassing previous standards for sensitivity and spatial resolution. Many standalone brain PET devices optimized for clinical neuroimaging are close to or already on the commercial market. Some boast unprecedented affordability and flexibility for installation and patient positioning, and others have been optimized for high spatial resolution for imaging small brain structures. PET/CT and integrated PET/MR systems are also under development promising high resolution data and improved co-registration of spatiotemporal data between modalities. Dedicated brain PET technology is yielding the highest sensitivity and highest spatial resolution neuroimaging available, with a focus on lowering barriers to adoption in the clinical setting, and will push continue to push advancements in disease detection and basic neuroscience.
