摘要:
As the cost of the primary energy used for industrial, commercial and residential sectors continues to rise, a refrigeration machine coupled with a hot water production unit offers an economical alternative for conserving energy through a waste heat recovery system. This coupled system could then become a key component in an environmental protection and energy recovery system with great potential for saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions. In order to improve the performance of this coupled unit for hot water production and reduce the water heating time, an investigation of a helical condenser with a conical shape immersed in a water tank was conducted, and it was compared with a normal helical condenser. The results obtained are discussed here, and it was confirmed that the heat transfer of the conical coil is enhanced by 14.93% in comparison with the normal condenser coil. This study provides guidelines for optimizing condenser coil designs for a variety of applications, including but not limited to household hot water production.
