摘要
The aims of this study were to improve nursing students' ability to recognize, communicate and act upon early warning signs of patient deterioration. The Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS) is a simple tool that nursing students can use to detect early patient deterioration. This pretest-posttest observational study revealed improvements in the MEWS scores, MEWS action algorithm, and adapted SBAR (S-situation, B-background, A-assessment, R-response) use. Nursing students may improve in identifying patient deterioration using the MEWS.(c) 2023 Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Published by Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
