Explorations on materiality as a line of research in the work of Claudia del Rio

This article examines the work of Argentinean artist Claudia del R ĺo, with special emphasis on her production during the 1990s and 2000s. It analyzes her material exploration in relation to the different poetics and politics of her visual work. The central hypothesis suggests that Claudia del R ĺo's creative research involves multiple operations where the link between material, affective, and social relations is key. Thus, readings about gender, body, transmission of knowledge, and contemporary consumer society follow each other in her images and texts.
