摘要
This article examines the relationship between the position of Private Institutions of Higher Education (HEI) in Teresina-PI that offer the Law course and the impacts on environmental education. The general objective of this study is to analyze the adequacy of the websites of (IES) with Law no 9.394/1996, of Guidelines and Bases of Brazilian Education (LDB), regarding the fulfillment of socio-environmental responsibility in the communication carried out with consumers. The research is characterized by its qualitative, quantitative, bibliographical and documentary nature with a theoretical basis proposed by Discourse Analysis, according to Fairclough and other authors. The critical analysis of the data revealed that many Institutions surveyed do not meet the minimum requirements required by law, do not express socio-environmental commitment and some sell education as a commodity, this shows the neglect of environmental issues and turns the citizen into a mere customer. Given this, the government and society must monitor these corporate discourses to ensure the quality of education and environmental responsibility.
