Anal stenosis. Recommendations of the Polish Coloproctology Club Research Association

Anal stenosis is a rare complication in proctology. The recommendations discuss indications for treatment as well as both medical and surgical management. The surgical technique depends on the severity of stenosis, its size, and location. The most common techniques include excision of scar tissue and repair with a V-Y advancement flap or rotation flap. Critical stenosis refractory to surgical reconstruction may require diversion colostomy.
