摘要
The construction industry is rapidly moving towards developing sustainable and smart building materials in recent decades due to the population range and the rising living comfort standards. In this study the compressive strength gypsum-based PCM cement mortar is evaluated in building construction envelope materials. The inert mortar composition of phase change materials (PCMs) allows the phase transition from solid to liquid and liquid to solid by its natural characteristics. In this study, gypsum powder (G) is utilised to encapsulate with paraffin wax and make gypsum with PCM aggregates. It is also used as a replacement for fine aggregates used in cement mortar. In order to use PPC cement, quartz sand, gypsum with PCM aggregates, water mixture was used to produce gypsum-based PCM cement mortar. The variation in strength properties with different mix proportion of gypsum with PCM aggregates respect to quartz sand was investigated to achieve the optimum required strength properties of the mortar.
