摘要
Structural material corrosion is one of the major concerns regarding the implementations of molten salt technologies and thermodynamic calculation is crucial to understand the corrosion mechanism occurring in molten salts. The present study unlocked the limits of thermodynamic calculations in molten nitrate salt systems by using a new reference state. Based on which, the Ellingham and E-pO2- diagrams for the corrosion products including Cr, Fe, Mn, and Ni were developed, unveiling the stability domains of these metals and the various overall equilibria which may participate in the corrosion and passivation process in molten nitrate salts.
