摘要
The idea to go for this review is to collect the recent data by focusing on the supramolecular gel. The design of supramolecular gel and its various applications have received growing attention. This review covers the structure, preparation, classification, properties, and applications of a diverse range of supramolecular gel. Depending upon the force of attraction between molecules, the gelling agents have a 3D cross-linked network. This covers the fundamental aspects and several applications of gel based on the old and the most recent publications in this field. Gel has strong efficiency in the drug delivery system that is more effective due to better stability and antioxidant activity and can effectively deliver at the target site. The potential of gel-based anion sensor, polymer sensor and thermal sensor were investigated owing to smart design strategy, low cost, and non-intrusive. As there is a great scarcity of studies on the importance of good compounding practices of gels in the preparation of cosmetics, agriculture, and 3D printing. So a complete review is required to understand the complete idea of gel, which will be benefited to the researchers in this field.
