摘要
In this work, Ni45.2Co5.1Mn36.7In13 alloy particles with a size no larger than 60 mu m were fabricated via conventional ball milling. The phase transformation and magnetocaloric properties of these particles were studied. The martensitic transformation of the as-milled particles, suppressed by mechanical milling, recovers after an appropriate heat treatment. Consequently, these annealed particles exhibit a large magnetocaloric effect (MCE) around room temperature. The maximum magnetic entropy changes are 11.5 and 9.4 J kg-1 K-1 at 3 T magnetic field, obtained via the Maxwell and the transformation fraction methods, respectively. The studied microparticles show their potential as a microscale magnetic refrigeration medium owing to their large ambient MCE.
