摘要
The textile sector has been identified as one of the most harmful and devastating for the environment due to the massive use of hazardous petroleum-based plastic chemicals during manufacturing and the discharge of pollutants during and after the product's life cycle. Despite having this detrimental influence on the environment, promising textile manufacturing supports its rising trends by meeting needs in marketing, fashion, and style, as well as more difficult technological problems. The substantial use of traditional non-biodegradable and nonrenewable plastic polymers endangers the environment due to inadequate infrastructure and limited recycling options. Since the issue is predicted to worsen over time, sustainable and environmentally friendly practices must be used in all possible applications. Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), a well-known class of organic waste-derived plastics, have drawn increasing interest as sustainable alternatives to synthetic thermoplastics in many textile applications because of their renewability and biodegradability in the ambient environment. The reviews focus on the general status of traditional plastic polymers, their influence in the textile sector, and the potential applications and results of PHAs in the textile industry.
