摘要
Eskom transmission network was primarily designed to transfer high power from coal- driven power stations to load centers. However, the increasing integration of renewable energy in rural areas necessitates additional 400kV lines. Despite the relatively small generation capacity, cost-effective designs with low audible noise are essential. This paper presents corona cage testing conducted to evaluate the audible noise performance of aged triple IEC 315 conductor bundles for 400kV applications. The results demonstrate the adequacy of using a 320mm sub-conductor spacing triple IEC 315 bundle for lines up to 1500m altitude, facilitating optimized designs.
