摘要
Hydrothermal method was used to synthesize titanium dioxide nanoparticles and they were annealed at various temperatures for characterization. The anatase phase tetragonal structure was identified from XRD patterns and average crystallite size was increased from 9 to 43 nm with increasing annealing temperatures. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the formation of anatase phase of titanium dioxide nanoparticles. Photoluminescence (PL) emission peak was observed at 666 nm (red emission) due to oxygen bond vacancies. The band gap value of 3.54 eV was identified using UV-Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (UV-DRS) using Kubelka-Munk method. FE-SEM and HRTEM images revealed agglomerated particles with tetragonal shape. N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms was used to find the pore size, pore diameter, and specific surface area by BET technique. The observed hydrogenation effect was superimposed with diamagnetic property and it was confirmed in T2-700 by vibrating sample magnetometer. Sensor-made use of the synthesized TiO2 nanoparticles showed the response and recovery time of 40 s and 20 s, respectively, toward acetone gas at room temperature.
