摘要
The aim of the study was to design and determine the psychometric properties of an instrument to analyze sexual dimorphism in play preferences in a preschool population. A total of 231 children between 3 and 6 years of age participated. An exploratory factor analysis showed a scale with three factors. There are significant differences in the choice of male and female games. In male games, the results at 4 and 6 years of age indicate that boys show a greater predilection for these games than girls (p=.002, Cohen's d=1.031 and p<.001, Cohen's d=1.435). At ages 5 and 6, girls show a greater predilection for female games (p=.014, Cohen's d=.665 and p=.049, Cohen's d=.574) than boys. In conclusion, the psychometric analyses provide evidence of validity and reliability of the questionnaire, which can be used to analyze play behavior from 3 to 6 years of age.
