摘要
The article is devoted to the Sussex School that is one of the directions of modern intellectual history. The relevance of the article is due to the fact that intellectual history in Russia is a popular method, as evidenced by the increasingly appearing articles with the keyword "intellectual history". This article presents an analytical review of the basic principles of this school and the attitude towards it from other research areas. Within the framework of the critical analysis, the nature of the self-identification of its representatives is established; the history of the formation of the school is considered; the main ideas and principles of the methodology of the School are formulated. It is shown that its approach is based on a polycontextual view of the intellectual life of the past; it is pointed out that the historians of the Sussex School offer a special research approach with an extremely historically oriented, eclectic and interdisciplinary character.
